City of East Point Rededicates Pedestrian Bridge Sign to James L. Jackson

During the City Council Meeting on February 18, 2019, a proclamation was presented to Mr. James L. Jackson to rededicate a new sign on the East Point Pedestrian Bridge in his honor to recognize his contributions to the City of East Point. Mr. Jackson is a World War II Veteran and in 1972 was the first black man to run for election for the East Point City Council seat for Ward B. In 2002, former Mayor Patsy Jo Hilliard named the East Point Pedestrian Bridge in his honor. Overtime the sign was later removed. The City of East Point thanks Mr. Jackson for his service and commitment to the City.
