The City of East Point’s Office of Communications is the hub from which information is disseminated to residents, businesses, and the media on City initiatives, programs, events, projects, and other important affairs.
The Office of Communications is tasked with creating and circulating News Releases and being the central contact for local and national print, broadcast, and online media organizations. The Office endeavors to develop positive media relations that encourage balanced reporting of City news. In addition, the City’s Municipal Channel EPTV 22 is under the purview of the Office of Communications which is responsible for guiding and maintaining the channel.
The Office is also responsible for creating and dispersing the City Newsletter – VERGE – as well as managing the City’s Social Media outlets – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
The Mission of the Office of Communications is to gather and provide timely and accurate information when it happens to encourage and support open government and to keep the community informed.
