Mayor and Council passed an ordinance on October 19, 2015 that reflects the requirements for leaf vacuum and collection, which helps to reduce leaf accumulation in the street, and minimize the potential for clogged storm drains.

2017-2018 Leaf Vacuum Collection Program Pick-Up Schedule

From March through September, a “Notice of Violation” will be given to residents failing to comply with bagging, bundling and containerizing requirements. Penalties may be imposed consisting of fines for non-compliance.

Leaf Season The annual leaf vacuum program will be in operation. October 2, 2017 through March 2, 2018. Loose leaves may be placed at the curb to be collected Monday-Friday in conjunction with the regular sanitation collection schedule. (Weather delay pickup will be scheduled the next business day) Note: Bagging of leaves is recommended, but not required during this period
Period Outside of Leaf Season The off season is March through September. Leaves must be bagged, bundled or containerized for pick-up Monday-Friday in conjunction with the regular sanitation collection schedule.

*NOTE: Yard trash, including tree trimmings and twigs must be bagged, bundled or containerized year-round and must not exceed 50 pounds per parcel. Please contact the Public Works Department at (404) 270-7116 for additional information.
