UPDATE 1900 Block of Headland Drive Reopened for Traffic Flow

Repairs are currently underway for the water main break in the 1900 block of Norman Berry Drive. Residences and businesses are experiencing a loss of water in various areas of the City. Customer Care and Administrative Offices are closed for the day. The estimated time for completion of repairs is 5:00 p.m. The City Council Meeting will take place tonight at the City Annex at 6:30 p.m. We will continue to keep you updated with the latest information.

UPDATE: The water main at Headland Drive and Norman Berry Drive has been repaired and water service has been restored. The boil water advisory is still in effect for East Point and College Park. Residents should boil water for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. Citizens should continue to boil their water until they are notified by the Water Department that the water system has been restored to full operation, and that the microbiological quality of the water in the distribution system is safe for human consumption.

UPDATE: Per Environmental Protection Division Compliance, water samples for a boil water advisory were collected today by the water treatment plant laboratory in the City of East Point and the City of College Park. The test results will be posted tomorrow around 12:00 pm. The decision to continue the advisory will be determined at that time.

UPDATE: The boil water advisory is still in effect and the citizens should continue to boil their water. The road closure on Headland Drive will remain in effect until tomorrow to allow the concrete to settle. An update will be sent out when traffic is permissible. UPDATE: The results of the final water sample testing from the water main break in the 1900 block of Headland Drive have returned.  The boil water advisory has been lifted due to all test results being NEGATIVE and the water is safe to drink.
