Proclamation Guidelines
All Proclamations must be retrieved from the Mayor's Office

Please phone 404-270-7091 to arrange for pick up

How should a proclamation request be made? 
  • Requests must be made in writing, via mail, fax or e-mail or hand-delivery.
  • It is strongly suggested that requests be made at least 4 weeks in advance of the date by which you need the document. Requests made within 7 days of the event will not be honored.

What must the request include?
  • Contact person's first and last name, address and telephone number, and email address when possible.
  • A brief summary and/or background of the person, organization or event.
  • The individual’s or organization’s name and date(s) of the day, week, month or event to be proclaimed.
  • All proclamation will be picked up from the Mayor's office.
  • A date when the proclamation is needed.

Other guidelines:
  • Proclamations will not take sides in matters of political controversy.
  • The Mayor’s Office reserves the right to modify or deny any proclamation request.

Tribute/Program Letter Guidelines
Tribute/program letters will be issued for the following: 
  • Conventions
  • Conference
  • Seminars
  • Family Reunions that will be held in Atlanta
  • Class Reunions for schools and institutions that are located in the city of East Point, or for reunions that are held in the city of East Point
  • Professional Celebrations
  • Religious Anniversaries and Celebrations
