Shannon Wiggins joined the City of East Point as the Public Information Officer in October 2017. Wiggins is a 2013 graduate of The University of Georgia with degrees in Digital Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. She is a former News Reporter, having worked for WALB-TV in Albany, Georgia for three years. Wiggins has received awards for “Outstanding Television Coverage” from the Southwest Georgia Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and has also been recognized by Rural Leader Magazine as a 2015 “40 Under 40” Honoree. She also served as the Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia Military College.
Jamayca Cole graduated from Atlanta Metropolitan State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Jamayca has been with the City of East Point since 2016 as an intern in the Mayor’s office and later in the City Manager’s office. She is now the Office of Communications’ Administrative Assistant in the City Manager’s Office. She is responsible for providing administrative support to the City Manager and the Public Information Officer by creating presentations, reports, correspondences, maintaining records and managing the activities of the executive office.
