The City of East Point Office of Communications is the hub from which information is disseminated to residents, businesses and the media on City initiatives, programs, events, projects, and other important affairs.
The Mission of the Office of Communications is to gather and provide timely and accurate information when it happens to encourage and support open government and to keep the community informed.
The Office of Communications is tasked with creating and circulating News Releases and being the central contact for local and national print, broadcast and online media organizations. The Office endeavors to develop positive media relations that encourage balanced reporting of City news.
In addition, the City’s Municipal Channel EPTV 22 is under the purview of the Office of Communications which is responsible for guiding and maintaining the channel.
The office is responsible for creating and dispersing the City Newsletter – VERGE Digital News Brief and VERGE Offline – as well as managing the City’s Social Media Outlets – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
EPTV Channel 22
EPTV 22 is East Point’s Municipal Access Cable Channel. Since its inception in 2001, EPTV has been an important communications medium in providing viewers full coverage of City Council Meetings, Planning and Zoning Commission Meetings, as well as broadcasting informative programs and vital information.
EPTV will transition into a new era this year with the production of programs in high definition so stay tuned.
